2-Way Street Conversion

Have you been wondering about the status of the Taft/Woodburn/McMillan 2-way street conversion project?

Per the DOTE, construction can begin in mid-Summer/Fall 2021. The signal work (stop lights) and streetscape  will begin in the Fall. The asphalt work (on the streets) has been pushed to the Spring of 2022. This extended schedule gives more flexibility to DOTE, which has gotten behind on work due to COVID, and to the contractor. The new schedule works well with the Woodburn Exchange development.

The 2-way conversion will take place in the Summer of 2022. The conversion will take 2-3 weeks, so doing it over the summer, while Saint Ursula Academy is on extended break, makes sense. The students, parents and staff will be aware of the on-going construction and educated about the conversion over the course of the 2021-2022 school year.
