Neighborhood Blitz

Get ready for the East Walnut Hills Blitz Clean-Up! The Department of Public Services Neighborhood Operations Division will be in our neighborhood Mon 13 Apr-Fri 17 Apr.

The Greenspace Crew will mow, trim and edge all DPS-owned properties. Street Sweeping will be done in accordance with the new Street Sweeping schedule. One 20 yd. dumpster will be delivered to the corner of Woodburn Ave. and DeSales Ln. (empty lot next to Gilligan Funeral Home) on Mon 13 Apr by 9am and removed on Fri 17 Apr by 9am. It will be emptied daily.

The following items are NOT permitted in the dumpster:

  • tires (stack outside dumpster)
  • paints
  • hazardous waste materials
  • oils
  • helium tanks
  • lacquers/thinners
  • propane tanks
  • liquids of any kind
  • gas cans
  • appliances with freon

Fri 17 Apr only:

There will be a roving trash truck circulating through East Walnut Hills, servicing all corner cans and collecting excessive trash and illegally dumped items. Please note: this is not another trash collection day.

Staff will be on foot to clean up main thoroughfares and heavily littered areas. Staff will also abate privately owned properties that have been cited for litter, tall grass and overgrown brush violations. To report a heavily littered spot, please contact the East Walnut Hills Assembly.

4th Annual Hoops & Hops

Please support Mercy Neighborhood Ministries by attending this unique event! The 4th Annual Hoops & Hops will be held on Sat 21 Mar 2020 at Purcell Marian High School. This is one of the biggest nights of the year for the NCAA college basketball tournament.

Attendees can watch the games on multiple large screen televisions while enjoying their favorite beer, basketball contests and plenty of tasty fare.

The signature event of the evening is the $10,000 Half-Court shot contest. Participating teams will designate team members to take half-court shots and the winning team will take home the grand prize of $10,000.

For more information on how you can participate in the $10,000 Half Court Shot Contest contact Aimee Shinkle at (513) 487-6198.

Beautification Volunteers Needed

The East Walnut Hills Beautification Committee is looking for volunteers to work in our neighborhood green spaces. The committee takes care of five traffic islands and needs volunteers to help with weeding, deadheading and general cleanup. You can make your own hours! No expert gardening experience is necessary, just a willingness to help keep these spaces looking tidy. If you’d like to help out, please contact the Beautification Chairperson, Sue Fullen.

Walk on Woodburn

Plan to stroll through our charming business district during the next Walk on Woodburn! This event is always a Friday night of revelry, camaraderie, art, food, drinks, and shopping. For up-to-date details, please follow Walk on Woodburn on Facebook or The Walk on Woodburn on Instagram!
